Welcome!

Welcome to the Bedford Democratic Committee webpage.

We are a grassroots organization, whose objective is to support and elect Democratic candidates in our area and throughout the state. Educating ourselves and the public about important issues of the day is also a part of our goals. With your help, we can make Bedford a better place to live and raise our families.

Please take the time to volunteer. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting!

Our committee meets on the fourth Monday of each month. We usually meet in the Bedford Room of the Bedford Public Library, 321 N. Bridge Street in Bedford; however check our events calendar for the exact location. Our meetings begin at 7:00 PM and usually last about an hour and a half with refreshments.

If you have questions, feel free to contact our Chair Ann Duncan at 540-816-0828 or by submitting an email.

Representatives from OneVirginia2021 speak at April monthly meeting

Representatives from the non-partisan group OneVirginia2021 were the guest speakers at our April 28 committee meeting. OneVirginia2021 advocates for a redistricting process that is fair, transparent and accountable to the citizens of Virginia. Their website www.onevirginia2021.org declares Virginia's state and congressional districts belong to its citizens and not to any legislator, interest group or political party. Districts should be drawn with citizen's interest in mind, encouraging healthy debate and political participation in the process. Pictured here are Terry Cooper of Terry Cooper Political Research, an opposition research group for the Republican Party, and Linda Perriello, mother of former 5th Congressional District Representative Tom Perriello.
