New Bern Sun Journal reports on Christian Coalition Meeting

“The excessive spending began at the onset of my life and has been going on for 45 years but the spiral started after 9/11 and cost us trillions of dollars,” Adame said. “Congress allocates money but the Federal Reserve prints money. If they print it and Congress gets its hands on it, they spend it. It’s not relegated to just one party. I’m a Bush appointee. We were wasting money hand over fist.”

Speaking to the Christian Coalition

Marshall Adame spoke to the Christian Coalition in New Bern, NC on July 21st. It was a very productive meeting where people from opposite sides of the political spectrum were able to come together in civil discourse. Marshall was warmly received by the group, fielded a variety of questions and expounded on his positions.

Thanks to Jerry Schill, Chairman of the Craven-Pamlico Christian Coalition, for inviting Marshall Adame, Whit Whitley and Carr Ipock to this meeting.

I will protect your Social Security.

Today we learned that Walter B. Jones wants to privatize Social Security and this means the all your hard earned money would not go to you, but to those on Wall Street. Support Marshall Adame, who will protect your Social Security and stand up for families in the Third District. Please donate today so we can reach a goal of $1,000 by Sunday at midnight.

Congress Has Crippled This Nation

Over the past 24 hours I've learned that right wing extremests in Congress plan to launch a major assault to repeal Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act, a 2008 law signed by President George W. Bush.  This repeal will result in devastating an important border patrol initiative which will likely put all of the affected children at serious risk.

I need $1700 by Monday to place radio adds in the third congressional district, exposing Walter Jones' voting record.  Please help me fight the good fight today by chipping in $5-10 or $20 dollars now.  I know I can count on you to help.

The Pitt County Branch of the NAACPadvocates for civil rights in their communities, as well as conducting voter mobilization and monitoring equal opportunity in the public and private sectors.  We firmly believe that it is imperative for voters to have a clear understanding of the position of each candidate running for office.  As a community based, non-partisan organization, we believe that it is our responsibility to raise awareness and facilitate discussions concerning issues deemed important by community residents.  We believe that a rally for all candidates to share their priorities and intentions for our community is an effective means of achieving this goal.

I would like to thank the great Democrats of Pitt County for inviting me  to attend and speak at the Pitt County Democratic Convention yesterday. Additionally I would like to thank Dusty Speedy for the wonderful introduction, Rufus Huggins for his leadership and the entire county board for the hard work and dedication.

I would also like to thank Congressman Butterfield for his leadership and his political clarity during this difficult time in our Government's history. With the help of people of Pitt County in November, I can provide Congressman Butterfield a much needed friend and colleague from the 3rd District to move our nation forward in the US House of Representatives.
