I will advocate for you just as I advocate for myself.

Yes I did present myself at McCurdy's church ONE TIME. That is not harassment. After I was ignored, I set up a meeting with his superior, Bishop Smith. McCurdy refused to show up. The article also neglected to inform you that this has been filed in court. I will see McCurdy in court.

McCurdy Contract

This is the McCurdy contract. So for those of you who believe the article, it clearly says ONE MONTH and the contract was for $1250. 5 A Frames at $250 each. McCurdy added $1700 miscellaneous. There are not ANY boxes checked where it says miscellaneous. I paid $1000, I should have 4 A Frames. Why pay additional for something that cannot be explained?

Press Release

7:00 pm

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my family, my team, my supporters and the residents of Southern Nevada.   Like you, I don’t believe in dirty politics.  I will run a positive campaign.  I will not run smear ads against other candidates. I am running on my own merit, on my own background, on my own record, experiences and volunteerism.

I apologize for the actions of my unethical opponents whose desperate approach to launch a smear and negative campaign are trying to use something that happened in my past, through no fault of my own, an incident that has long been settled to try to embarrass my campaign. That’s why I m running for Assembly District 3 to make Nevada a better place for children, women and seniors.

We will not allow this distraction to take away from the campaign and my dedication to make changes within the community where I live and work.

I hold a law degree with a clean background.  Further, I have two undergraduate degrees and am ready to hit the ground running on day one.   I will support legislation that pays higher wages to teachers and provides more training to them.   As a Realtor, I understand the foreclosure crisis and will support legislation to keep people in their homes.  Since I am a small business owner, I have navigated the taxation, the licensing, and the permitting processes that adversely affect small business and cost jobs to Nevadans.  As your State Assemblywoman, I will work toward eliminating barriers to small businesses.

The negativity that follows my candidacy for the office of Assembly District 3 is very disappointing as I have run a very positive campaign.  I have created a web site at VoteforNakia.com.  The issue at hand surrounds a legal matter where I applied for and received public assistance after the loss of my business and the economic downturn.    Due to the good work by the District Attorney’s office, I received a lump sum payment for child support and repaid the overpayment. This issue was satisfied many years ago to the State’s satisfaction.  Now suddenly, there is an issue. I have a clean background. I have held and currently hold various licenses.    As the next State Assemblywoman for District 3, I understand, first hand this important issue and will continue to fight for the civil rights of women with dependent children.

You can help support my campaign by voting for me, by volunteering to walk, make phone calls and making a donation.  I can be reached at Assembly3@voteforNakia.com or 702-318-1244.

Yours in the Legislature,

Nakia Woodson
